Spread Joy This Holiday Season with Empower Yolo

This holiday season, Empower Yolo invites our community to help brighten the lives of families in need by contributing to our Holiday Store. We’ve created wish lists for Moms and Teens in our safe house, items for Santa’s Playroom at the Shelter, and essentials for Rooms to Go. Advocates will use donated items to create gift packages for children and clients.

Whether you give individually or gather donations with your family, friends, book club, coworkers, scout troop, sports team, or through a Giving Tree, every contribution makes a meaningful difference. Our lists offer flexible options so everyone can participate in a way that feels right for them. Donors are welcome to purchase anything from these lists and in any quantities.

General Wish List Items

Throughout the year, families are always in need of items that help get them back on their feet. Here are some suggestions for items to support activities in the shelters and in homes.

• Hand sanitizer
• Toilet paper
• Paper towels
• Disinfecting cleaning supplies (Clorox wipes; Lysol spray)
• Trash bags (30 gallon size)
• Dish soap
• Antibacterial liquid hand soap (pumps & refill size)
• Laundry soap
• Hygiene items (deodorant, body wash, lotion, toothpaste, chapstick)
• Snacks and drinks for kids at the shelter
• Sunglasses and hats for survivors at the shelter
• Food store gift cards (grocery stores, Walmart, Target, local restaurants)
• Gift cards (gas cards, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens)
• Art supplies, craft sets & educational materials for children
• Housing items – “Rooms to Go” – non-furniture items you would need to start over in an apartment for kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and laundry room. No furniture please.

Drop-off Locations

Donations can be dropped off at the main office in Woodland or the Resource Center in Davis during office hours. Thank you for your support.
