Confidential Counseling

Empower Yolo offers free confidential counseling services to adult and children survivors of abuse and their family members.

Individual Counseling

Empower Yolo provides free and confidential counseling to adults who have been victimized by domestic violence, sexual assault or trafficking . *Violence does not have to be recent to receive counseling services. Counseling is also available to family members who are dealing with their own feelings around the abuse of someone they love.

Child Abuse Treatment Program

Empower Yolo provides counseling services for children who have been victimized by violence, sexual abuse, neglect, school or community violence, parental substance abuse, who have witnessed violence in their home, or have experienced any other child maltreatment.

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Support Groups

Empower Yolo offers support groups for adults who have experienced domestic or sexual violence as a child or adult. Childcare is available upon request. *Registration is required for Individual Counseling and Support Groups.

Our domestic violence support group has four different sessions available: Mondays at 6 p.m. via zoom; Tuesdays, at 5 p.m. via zoom; Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the Woodland Office, and Spanish class Wednesdays at 5 p.m. at the Davis office. It is an 8-topic course that goes over topics related to domestic violence such as the cycle of violence, why people stay in abusive relationships, and how domestic violence affects children. It is a rolling enrollment; clients can start any time during the cycle of the curriculum. Domestic violence support group is for 18+ age group.

  • Wednesdays, 5 p.m., Spanish class, at the Davis Resource Center, 441 D Street, Davis.

Online Support Group Focusing on Self-Care:

Empower Yolo has an online support group for those who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault at some point in their lives. This is different from the other domestic violence and sexual assault groups because the focus is on SELF-CARE.  Our Self Care group is on Thursdays at 6:00pm via zoom. It is a 6-topic course that goes over the types of self-care, why self-care is important and ideas of how to do self-care. It is also a rolling enrollment class; clients can start any time during the cycle of the curriculum. The self care group is for 18+ age group. Thriving Teens Support Group:

Our Thriving Teens, sexual assault support group is on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. via zoom. It is a 12-week course that discusses many aspects of sexual assault, as well as coping exercises. It is a closed enrollment class meaning everyone will start together and end together. Sign up for the next session by September 20 and class will start September 27. The Thriving Teens support group is for 13-19 years age group.
