Batterer’s Intervention Program (BIP) is Empower Yolo’s certified, 52-Week Batterer’s Intervention Program, in compliance with penal code 1203.097 and monitored by probation. Voluntary clients and other referral sources are accepted.

Step1: All prospective Court mandated BIP clients must go to the Yolo County Probation Department at 2780 East Gibson Road, Woodland, for a program referral. Thursdays 8:00-11:30 a.m. on a drop-in basis.

Step 2: Schedule an Intake Interview and a Fee Assessment appointment with the BIP Coordinator.

Cost: $50. If you are court-ordered and fail to appear, we are required to notify the court or the probation department and a warrant may be issued for your arrest. The intake is a one-on-one interview with the Empower Yolo BIP Coordinator to establish eligibility and sign contracts. If mandated by the court or other agency, please bring a copy of the referral document given to you. Bring in the most recent four weeks worth of pay stubs for the financial assessment. If not assessed, the regular group charge of $45 per group will be paid.

All other referrals (Paroles, CPS, Family Court, Self-Referral, & other agencies) Please contact the Empower Yolo business line at 530-661-6336 and ask for Mariana Negrete, BIP Coordinator. An informational form will be filled out by telephone. The client will be contacted as soon as possible by the BIP Coordinator and an BIP Orientation appointment will be scheduled.
